Have you ever wanted to get a birds eye view of your Insteon Hub account? How about the ability to view all the devices you have added along with their Insteon IDs and room memberships? Or perhaps just get a summary of your Insteon scenes, a list of their members and what their responses are when activated?
Well, now you can view all this data AND export it to a spreadsheet.
So, how do you do this?
First, a little background… There is a web page that was designed for the older Hub 1 users that allowed them to use a browser to monitor and control their devices - similar to the old Insteon for Hub mobile app. This was called “Insteon for Browser - BETA” and was unfortunately abandoned by the previous owners of the company. When Hub 2 launched, this portal didn’t get the proper support to allow those users to monitor/control their devices. Now with the new owners, the team has set out to repurpose this portal to provide insights for Hub users.
A final word before we get started
The data displayed in this web portal reflects what’s currently in the database. This is the same data used to populate the mobile app. Any links that exist outside of this will not be displayed. Also, if a change is made with the mobile app, you’ll need to refresh the web page to pull in the latest configuration data.
Finally, you currently do not need a Hub Account Access subscription to retrieve this data.
Ok, here’s what you need to do:
Log into the connect.insteon portal
Visit https://connect.insteon.com and enter the credentials you use to log into the mobile app:
After successfully logging in, at the bottom of the web page, click on the House Configuration icon:
Select your home from the drop down list:
The selected house details will be displayed beginning with Devices. In addition to the device details (name, ID, type, rooms), there is a column for displaying any schedules assigned to a device. There is also an option to export the list to a .csv file.
Next is a list of the rooms. Also with an option to export:
And finally there is a list of the scenes along with their members, the programmed actions, and any schedules that have been set for them. And an option to export:
We hope you have found this helpful :)
