Powerline Noise Filter tips:
If you are not getting reliable transmissions between Insteon devices, it could be that an electrical device is interfering with those transmissions.
Turn off a circuit at the circuit breaker.
Try re-sending the same commands from the Insteon devices that are experiencing poor communications to determine if they are working better with that one circuit off.
If they are, you should turn on that one circuit and try to identify the device causing that noise.
Unplug an electrical device that could cause interference. Unplug, not just turn off.
Try re-sending the same commands from the Insteon devices that are experiencing poor communications to determine if they are working better with that one device unplugged.
If they are, you should consider installing a Powerline Noise Filter on that device.
If you are still experiencing poor communications, one of the Insteon devices may be older and only have powerline transmission, not radio frequency as well. To check, open the Director app > click on a device tile > click on Settings gear icon > go to Advanced > Radio Frequency will show either a value in MHz or N/A. If it says N/A, we recommend replacing the device with a current version that takes advantage of dual-band communications.
We have found that UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supplies) can be one of the biggest culprits in creating powerline noise. A Power Line Noise Filter is highly recommended with these devices.
